Sea Turtles of Nicaragua – both Coasts

We've timed this trip for the peak nesting season for three amazing sea turtle species - Olive Ridley, Hawksbill, and Green Sea Turtles.  In our quest for these majestic creatures we will visit both coasts of Nicaragua starting with the laid-back Caribbean Coast and then the Pacific Coast for the incredible Olive Ridley arribadas where thousands of turtles arrive in a single night! Complementing the sea turtles will be sea kayaking and some outstanding snorkeling in Caribbean reef system and along the Pacific where we almost always are accompanied by Olive Ridley Sea Turtles who are rafting off-shore in preparation for their evening arrival. We round off this adventure with two nights on the iconic island of Ometepe and finish with overnight in the charming colonial city of Granada.

Day 1: Arrive in Managua

Day 2: Flight to Bluefields on Caribbean Coast, Pearl Lagoon multi-ethnic community tour.

Day 3: Ovenight camping at Pearl Cayes Wildlife Refuge, snorkeling and Green & Hawksbill observation opportunities.

Day 4: Transfer to Pacific Coast & La Flor Wildlife Refuge, Olive Ridley arribada opportunity.

Day 5: Sea kayaking & snorkeling, Olive Ridley arribada opportunity.

Day 6: Transfer to Ometepe Island, afternoon horseback riding option.

Day 7: Hiking to the cloud forests of Maderas Volcano, Ometepe Island.

Day 8: Transfer to Granada and visit to Pueblos Blancos, farewell dinner
